Spring Updates: Pinball Updates, Game Fixes & More
While the site here has not been updated in a few months, we’ve still been busy, so let’s get caught up on things.
First off, we have remained steady in our pricing. Unlike our competitors, we haven’t raised prices on anything, and in addition to no entry fee, we have several games that are only a single token – or 25¢ – to play. We have over two dozen games that cost the same at our arcade as they did 30 or 40 years ago.
In other news, we have sold off Star Trek pinball machine. There just comes a time when every pinball machine is better off in a home collection, so as we’ve done before on several other pins, we sold it to a collector. We still have several other great pinball machines and will get another game in the future, as we also have a tournament scene in Utah that we are happy to be a part of and support. Both Utah Pinball Tournaments and others have held various pinball competitions at our location, for which we are grateful; note that the next Monthly Tournament by UPT is happening on Saturday April 25th!

In case you hadn’t heard, last year we did get Dungeons & Dragons premium pinball, a new air hockey table, Sega’s MaiMai Finale, as well as Omen of Sorrow: Arising Chaos & P-47 Aces Mk. II for the exA-Arcadia. Each of these are great games in their own right, and no one else in the State has these particular models (we have the only D&D premium on location, while the air hockey table is a super colorful, curved table; P-47 Aces Mk. II is a fantastic shoot ’em up that is a 4K remaster to a Jaleco game from the 1990s that includes new game modes).
Lastly, we have been working hard to get all of our games up and running. Unfortunately for some titles, this is rather difficult as parts for some are prohibitively expensive or we just can’t find the right one. Time Crisis II is one example of this, as we basically need new CRT monitors. We’ve also had some frustration on several games that we think that we fix, then they break down again, like Big Buck Hunter Reloaded or Metal Slug 6. We are still working at it though and have been able to fix:
- Gauntlet Dark Legacy
- One of the NIRINs (still have another to repair)
- The Act: An Interactive Comedy
We had to send Minecraft Dungeons: Arcade in for a repair as the issue that has been having with the joysticks has been baffling to say the least, and we hope that shortly after that is resolved that we’ll also get our Big Buck running properly again. We also apologize for the Funky Beatz Air hockey table; we’ve been complaining to the manufacturer, Elaut USA/Benchmark Games, about this since the day we got it and months later they have been incompetent at resolving the issue with the scoring, so we will not be wasting our time or money on their products for the foreseeable future.
